Thea and Viv's Big Aventure Tour Stop!

Photobucket

Hi everyone, it’s Viv. Thea is starting us off at the other blog on the tour today, so I get to cause mischief here at Bell’s. It’s Day 8 of Thea and Viv’s Big Adventure, and there’s a storm brewing.

I was thinking about the big storms I’ve personally experienced. Some have involved water, some snow, but they’ve all involved fairly large shots of adrenaline rushing through my system. So today I’m going to find out what makes Thea’s adrenaline run. Heheh. Because then, you know, I can poke her into doing crazy things with me. :D

Thea, you know the routine. Let’s make you squirm…

1. Which would you least want to deal with? A scorpion, snake or BIG spider?
Photobucket

Ha! Or is that EEEEwwwwww? I’m afraid my mother taught us children her fear of spiders, but I’ve dealt with them all my life. It would really be a toss up between the snake and the scorpion—but the scorpion wins. After all, most snakes aren’t poisonous, but you know scorpions are.

2. You’ve been invited to an unusually fancy dinner. There’s one thing on the table that you REALLY don’t want to try. What is it?

I can’t pick just one, because there are so many things I REALLY don’t want to eat. I don’t ever eat veal or foie gras, because they both involve cruel practices. And I can’t abide the thought of raw fish, so most sushi is out!

3. Snowstorm, rainstorm, dust storm. You have a good tent to hide in and all the necessary gear/food. Which would you least want to endure for a solid week?

Ack, definitely the snowstorm! Snowstorms should always be enjoyed through a glass window while one sits beside a bright fire. Preferably with a cup of hot tea or chocolate.

4. There are two doors in front of you. One leads to an auditorium stage filled with thousands of people who are expecting you to talk to them. The other leads to a very high and narrow walkway over top of the auditorium. Which door do you chose to enter?

Wicked Viv! Okay, I would have to pick the door with thousands of people. I don’t actually enjoy public speaking, but I can do it. As for heights, I used to be able to enjoy them but that has changed over the years. If I get too close to the edge of a steep drop, I get vertigo.

(And briefly, Viv’s answers are: 1. A scorpion, because I have little experience with them. 2. I would have real trouble eating blood sausage. 3. Dust storm by a TON. Snow is silent, rain I can get used to, but I HATE the wind, so dust blowing for days would drive me mad. 4. Either. I love public speaking and I’ve trained myself to like heights.)

Hey! We’re also over at Feeling Fictional today. Go get some more ‘bad weather’ info ;)

Question for today:
Walk the high path or public speaking?
Which makes you quiver more?

  1. Great post! I have to choose. I agree that a public speaking is terrifying, very terrifying. I am too shy so I guess to Walk the high path.

  2. I hate public speaking but I can do it and walking the high path really wouldn't bother me that bad so I can do either but I guess I wouldn't really want to speak in public.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  3. I'd walk the high path any day over public speaking. I'm not afraid of public speaking but my body thinks otherwise and I always break out in hives. You never really get your point across when people are looking at the splotches all over your face.
    Thank you.

  4. I wouldn't mind either! I guess it depends on what I'm going to be speaking about.

  5. I absolutely hate public speaking, always have. I perform most excellent behind the scenes, but me and public speaking is not a pretty sight, lol.

  7. I'd do the public speaking, not a fan of heights or narrow walkways with no safety net, LOL!

  8. I'd definitely walk the high path because public speaking is so scary to me.

  9. Lordy--you know how to torture! Those are two of the things I like least, EVAH! Hate heights and absolutely loathe speaking in front of people. I even have trouble leading small groups, where I know everyone already! I think in this case I'd go with the path, because I can usually just gut through it, but the public speaking would be weeks of anxiety leading up to, then the actual horror of the event itself, plus possible fallout if I do choke as expected ;p

  11. Public speaking makes me quiver more. Something about all that quiet and eyes watching, waiting to hear something marvelous come out of my mouth. Which usually doesn't happen.

  12. Does the walkway have a railing? Because if so, that's easy-peasy for me. I'm fine with heights as long as I have something to hold on to. Public speaking usually doesn't bother me that much either, but thousands of people would probably scare me to death.

  13. I'm absolutely terrified of speaking in public. I start coughing nonstop and I can't quit clearing my throat. I end up looking like an idiot.

  14. It is a toss up but I think I would prefer walking on a high ledge to speaking in public.

  15. Public speaking. I just can't do it. My throat gets dry, I start coughing, my stomach gets upset and I could vomit I get so nervous. I'm petrified of heights, but I'd rather do that then speak in public.

  16. Public speaking. Literally get sick to my stomach and can't speak without a quiver in my voice. So not cool.

  17. Hmmm-I'm not afraid of heights or public speaking but if I have to choose, I supposed I'd be a bit more wary of a narrow and high path.

  18. Neither one is appealing but public speaking makes my legs and inside tremble so bad. As for heights, they are not something I can do (or walk on certain kinds of bridges)

  20. Thanks for a fun interview and giveaway! Congrats on the new releases!

I'd have to say that I'd pick the high, narrow walkway. I don't like heights but easier to grit my teeth and go for it than the public speaking!

  21. Comment on behalf of Glittergirl: I would pick the high path if it has a hand rail. I don't have the best balance. If not I'd pick the public speaking IF I was prepared. Oh and Thea I'm with you about the snow, the best place is behind a large picture window with a roaring fire and a snifter of brandy :-)

  22. NOT AN ENTRY!!!! I don't do e-books.

But to answer the question, I'd rather walk along a high path with no rope them attempt to try public speaking.

  23. I'm fine w/ public speaking ~ lol, I'm NOT the shy retiring sort! But ewww...SNAKES are a fear I can't overcome. LOL, reading Devil's Gate I kept trying to imagine a snake snuggling up to me...NOooooo...but I loved Seramela, Thea ~ and loved that her snakes had minds of their own, even is I did shiver at the thought of them reacing out and touching me, lol.

  24. Just the thought of public speaking makes me feel ill. I'll take the high path thank you.

  25. Id pick the high path i get stage fright when i have to talk to a crowd of people.

  26. Public speaking for sure. I have a hard time doing anything in front of a big crowd. At my last piano recital (when I was like 12) my mom could see me shaking from the audience.

  27. Great post! These are difficult questions you ask Vivian!
About public speaking and walking the high path, I think I could do both. I'm not mad about heights but I can stand it for a little while. And I can survive speaking to a crowd if I know what to say. I've been in a few theater plays when I was younger and it was not that bad!

  28. Public Speaking. I can do it and Ive taken classes on it. But I hate it and will avoid it at all costs. Walking the high path is difficult in a whole different way.

  29. Public speaking, without a doubt. Even attending meetings, knowing I MIGHT be asked a question, make me ill.

    Thanks,
